Since 1st November 2012, all new-type vehicles have been required by EU law to have a pressure based tyre pressure monitoring system installed. This applies to the road wheels, not the spare. Since 1st November 2014, all new passenger vehicles have to have a TPMS installed by the manufacturer.
Many car manufacturers already introduced TPMS to their vehicles ahead of the 2012 legislation change. Cars without TPMS from original equipment can have one of many TPMS systems available in the retail market installed to enjoy the benefits of DriveGuard.
