A jaw dropping collection of war planes and luxury sports cars - worth more than £20 million - will again put Lincolnshire on the map after organisers of the Props & Pistons Show confirmed that plans were well underway for another event to remember.

Bush Tyres and the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre are already assembling a collection of iconic attractions for the event on August 29, with all donations going towards the Leukaemia Trust.

The RAF Battle of Britain Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane will light up the sky while on the ground, a display of world class cars will excite in equal measure, including Ferrari, Bentley, Aston Martin and Porsche.

Other cars and aircraft will also add to the overall spectacle, while the world’s number one tyre and rubber company Bridgestone will add its presence to proceedings, courtesy of a chance to win a set of tyres.

Bridgestone will also create an unusual spectacle of its own, when it punctures its revolutionary DriveGuard tyres before demonstrating how motorists can keep on driving afterwards.

Between 4,000 and 5,000 spectators are expected to attend Props and Pistons, where a P40 Kittyhawk and P51 Mustang are also expected to take to the skies.

Organisers Bush Tyres, Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire's leading independent tyre specialist, said: “This will be our sixth Props & Pistons event and we genuinely feel that it can be our most successful yet.

“We can already confirm an impressive array of marques which we think will generate a lot of interest, while our air show could well be our most enduring spectacle yet.”

“And the more money we can raise for the Leukaemia Trust, the better.”

Props and Pistons initially involved some of Bush Tyres’ friends and customers who either owned or knew of some impressive cars to exhibit. The event has steadily grown and is now on course to be as big as anything we have organised before.

“It is great that Bridgestone is lending its support again this year and if we see some smiling faces and families enjoying themselves on the day, then all the effort will be worthwhile.”

Bridgestone’s key accounts manager Sam Allatt said: “Bush Tyres is one of our most valued customers and we know how important Props and Pistons is on their calendar.

“The event provides an invaluable platform to showcase our new DriveGuard product, which allows motorists to drive for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50mph following a puncture. We hope that families will be interested in the technology, so it is a great opportunity for us to be at the show.”
