Tyre Trade News: Bridgestone van and truck tyres

19 January 2012

Helping to reduce fuel costs by improving rolling resistance, coupled with saving van and truck owners money by using tyres that last longer, is at the heart of Bridgestone’s commercial product range.

And, throughout 2012 Bridgestone UK will be testing its next generation low rolling resistance truck tyres - Ecopia II - across the country ahead of the launch in 2013.  Based on the successful existing Ecopia range this latest offering represents the next step in the company’s commitment to develop tyres that offer more economical motoring without losing out on performance.

Ecopia’s NanoProTech Compound helps to create better wet grip and the range’s Waved Belt technology ensures a stable footprint throughout the tyres’ life, and theTurn-in-Ply and Stone Ejectors increase durability and prevent stones from being retained and damaging the tyres.

And, within the Durvais van tyre range drivers have two products – the R410 and the R630 – that save money and fuel. The R410 tyre is a go-the-distance, high mileage tyre, designed for withstanding heavy duty daily use. The jointless cap technology reduces irregular wear and the specially optimised tread pattern increases the life cycle.  Meanwhile the R630 can provide an extended tyre life up to 30 per cent longer than conventional tyres due to its Super LL Carbon compound.  Its advanced tread design, featuring 3D sipes with Key Hole shaping which widen as the tyre wears, maintain outstanding wet handling throughout the tyre life.

The Truck Point service package, Bridgestone’s state of the art truck fleet solution, is one of the most highly regarded service networks within the commercial tyre industry.  It provides a 24-hour breakdown cover, proactive tyre husbandry and a tailored tyre selection from the Bridgestone new and retread tyre range for each individual fleet vehicle.

Within the Truck Point package Bridgestone offers a bespoke management system – known as MegaFleet – which allows a truck fleet manager to track the performance of each individual tyre of its entire fleet to the mile.
