FAQs

General

  • Are Bridgestone and Firestone the same company?

Yes, they are. While Bridgestone and Firestone are different brands, they are both managed by the Bridgestone Group and both tyre ranges are developed and manufactured by Bridgestone Europe.

  • Do I need to replace all 4 tyres on my tractor or can I just fit 2 (e.g. on the rear axle)?

In order to benefit fully from Bridgestone’s VF technology, we recommend fitting Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyres to both front and rear axles. Nevertheless, it is possible to fit them to just one axle and the difference in performance should still be noticeable. In that case, we recommend that you check the lead-lag percentage to ensure both front and rear tyre speeds remain in balance.
It is not recommended to fit VF tyres and IF or standard technology tyres on the same axle.

  • How can Bridgestone VT-Tractor tyres carry more weight than standard tyres under the same pressure?

Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyres are built using completely different technology than standard agricultural tyres. Highly durable casings, sidewalls with ultra-low vertical stiffness and new bead designs all work together to ensure Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyres can carry 40% more weight than a standard tyre. That means you can effectively haul higher payloads and cover more surface area without any additional impact to your soil. Ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity and protection for your crops and top soil.

  • I don’t have a high-horse-power tractor. Is it still worth fitting the Bridgestone VT-Tractor tyre?

Yes. While the percentage difference in performance will obviously be greater in the case of larger, higher-powered tractors, this does not mean that more compact tractors cannot benefit from the VF technology in Bridgestone’s VT-TRACTOR tyres. They will still deliver measureable improvements in terms of traction, fuel economy and soil protection. Contact your dealer or Bridgestone Sales Office for more information and a competitive offer.

  • How do I use the speed /pressure table?

You don’t need to! Bridgestone agriculture tyres are equipped with the most advanced VF technology on the market, which stands for Very High Flexion. This ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) standard lets you carry the same load at any vehicle speed (up to a maximum of 50 km/h). This means you do not have to change tyre pressure when going from the field to the road, nor do you need to reduce payload. Which adds up to significant time savings and hassle-free driving.

  • Is the Bridgestone VT-Tractor tyre the most soil-friendly agricultural tyre?

Yes it is. Both internal and independent tests have shown that the VF technology (Very High Flexion) incorporated in the design of the Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyre delivers outstanding traction and performance at much lower inflation pressures. That means the weight is distributed over a much larger area, increasing traction while lowering contact pressure and reducing soil compaction. Which will make a noticeable difference at harvest time!

  • What does the “NRO” marking on the tyre’s sidewall mean?

"NRO" stands for "Narrow Rim Option". This new standard is unique to Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyres.
When developing Bridgestone VF technology for use in conventional sizes, Bridgestone developed a special version of the design for use on narrower rims for a variety sizes. This feature lets you benefit from a VF tyre without having to change your rims, for greater flexibility and lower investment costs. Full details of the available tyre and accompanying rim sizes can be found in the official product brochure .

  • What does "VT" stand for?

"VT-TRACTOR" is the pattern name for Bridgestone’s flagship agriculture tyre. The "V" stands for the lug angle. The "T" stands for high traction and "TRACTOR" refers to the application for these particular sizes. Other sizes and applications will be launched in the future, including, e.g., the VT-Combine.

  • Why choose Bridgestone tyres?

Bridgestone designs and develops premium agricultural tyres that combine outstanding performance and efficiency with technology that protects your most precious asset: your top soil. Bridgestone’s VT-TRACTOR tyres are built to operate at very low inflation pressures, offering excellent traction while minimising soil compaction. Which adds up to greater productivity, faster work times, better fuel economy and higher yields. In other words, Bridgestone tyres are an investment that will quickly pay for themselves!

  • Will the Bridgestone VT-Tractor save me fuel?

Yes. Independent tests have demonstrated that with Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR tyres, thanks to their superior traction, you can save up to 36 litres/day or over 500€ per 500 hectares compared to other premium products.

  • Will the Bridgestone VT-Tractor save me time?

Yes, it certainly will. Independent tests have already demonstrated that the superior traction of Bridgestone VT-Tractor tyres lets you cover about 0.9 hectare more in one day compared with current key players in the market. The higher payload of Bridgestone VT-Tractor tyres also means that you can carry, e.g. larger spray arms and wide ploughs which can cover even more surface area in a single pass, thereby saving even more time, disturbing less soil and reducing fuel consumption.
